Artist Bio
Yukkin(ze/zir) is the interdisciplinary artist, author and creative force behind the YUniverse. Creating wonder filled art ze has always treated art as a way of being, as a part of their wellness, spiritual practice, self discovery and shaping their environment. Exploring the absurdity of normal, Yukkin embraces curiosity and wonder to create whimsical, playful, colourful, and campy art with a focus on personal identity with nature. Graduating with honours from University of Guelph’s studio art program, zir art is experimental and playful in transformation through blending a wide array of mediums. Yukkin’s art and YUniverse is the evolution of learning the rules, skills, norms and deciding to make forge their own path to create a whole new YUniverse instead. From immersive and interactive installations like zir Zavitz solo show(2023), to livestream performance art; Yukkin challenges perspective to be authentic to passion, self, and curiosity to find possibilities.
