Spirits of the Rocks

A small spirit of rocks: they have learned to move freely & grow from their vast experience. All rocks have a presence, some have gained movement from learning they can be a rock while being soft. Learning to smooth and soften over time, they flow through rivers and warm people’s hearts.

Of all the creatures we’ve encountered in our journeys through the YUniverse, one of the first–and one of our favourites–is the ESR. ESRs (Emotional Support Rocks; a very fitting name, we think) are exactly what you’d expect. They’re oftentimes very small, ideal for transportation and for being carried by their chosen person. An ESR is an incredibly common companion across the YUniverse, found on every planet, in every culture, no matter the species or climate. We aren’t sure why they take on the form of a rock, honestly; especially since they’re actually quite soft! Whatever the reason, ESRs are identifiable by their greyish colouration, small black eyes, and oftentimes crowned with some leaves or flowers. They are sustained by the emotions of their chosen companion, and delight in seeing this companion happy and healthy. While they don’t seem to absorb negative emotion, their mere presence can sometimes be enough to dispel such emotion from their chosen companion. ESRs want nothing more than to journey with you through life, experiencing the ups and downs alongside you, and acting as foundational support (do you see what I did there?) when you need it. They’re absolutely ADORABLE, unendingly sympathetic and supportive, and some of the most inherently GOOD creatures we’ve ever come across. Treat them well–they’ll remind you that it’s important to take care of yourself, and they’ll be there to hold you steady, perhaps even guide you, in the harder times life sometimes throws at us.
